8 Days Marangu Route

Day 01:Arrival in Moshi / Arusha
Arrive anytime in Arusha or Moshi, meet and greet with your Tanzanian Guide for transfer to
your hotel, Dinner and overnight.

Day 02: Moshi – Marangu gate
Morning breakfast at 6.30 am, after breakfast driver will come to pick you for transfer to
Marangu gate, the driv e from Arusha to Marangu gate is 1 hours 30 minutes, complete
necessary arrangement and start trekking, today you will walk for 3 – 4 hours to reach Mandara
Huts at 2720 m, above the sea level dinner and overnight at Mandara Huts

Day 03: Mandara Huts – Horombu Huts
Morning after breakfast start trekking towards Horombo Huts, you will walk through the
moorland forest the trek takes 6 – 7 hours to reach Horombo Huts, at 3700 m, dinner and
overnight at Horombo Huts

Day 04: Horombo Huts
Today you will have a full day to acclimatize at the Horombo Huts, you will have a 4 hours
trekking to the Zebra Rocks and on the Bottom of the Mawenzi peaks, descend back to
Horombo, dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut.

Day 05: Horombo Huts – Kibo Huts
Ascend through the saddle area, to Kibo Huts today you will walk for 5 – 6 hours, to reach Kibo
Huts, rest have early dinner and go to bed early to prepare yourself for the midnight summit.
You will wake up at 23h00 am, and start your final ascent to the Uhuru peak, from Kibo Huts to
Gilman’s point takes 5 hours and from Gilman’s point to Uhuru peak at 5895 m takes 2 hours.

Day 06: Kibo Huts – Uhuru Peak- Horombo Huts
You will descend from the summit at 10h00 am, you will have early lunch, and rest for 1
hours before starting to descend down to Horombo Huts, descend takes 3 – 4 hours dinner and
overnight at Horombo Huts

Day 07: Final descent to Marangu gate- Moshi
Final descend to Marangu gate via Mandara Huts, walking for 5 - 6 hours, meet your driver at
the gate, collect your luggage, say bye to your porters and Guide and transfer back to Arusha,
dinner and overnight at Arusha Tourist inn Hotel, dinner included

INCLUSIVE:

All park entrance fees, all huts fees, and all meals on the mountain, service of our guide,
cook and porters, transfer from Arusha to mountain gate, Rescue fees, return shuttle
transfer from Nairobi to Arusha and back to Nairobi
